<\/p>\n

Warum der Name \"Magic of the Unknown\"? Es ist wie in dem Gedicht \"The road not taken\" von Robert Frost. Die weniger bereiste Stra\u00dfe zu nehmen, ist vielleicht die ungewissere Alternative. Diejenige, deren Ziel man am Anfang nicht sehen kann oder nur als sehr verschwommene Silhouette am Horizont. Aber sie ist voller Magie, und das macht den Unterschied aus. Ich denke, es ist das Unbekannte, in dem man wirklich magische Momente, Begegnungen und Orte findet. Da ich in L\u00e4ndern gelebt habe, die nicht zu den \u00fcblichen Reisezielen f\u00fcr internationale Touristen geh\u00f6ren, hatte ich die M\u00f6glichkeit, Menschen mit ganz anderen Lebensumst\u00e4nden als meinen zu treffen, viele unerwartete Situationen zu erleben und Orte von atemberaubender Sch\u00f6nheit zu sehen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Der Schwerpunkt dieses Blogs liegt auf Indien aus der Perspektive von jemandem, der in diesem Land lebt und arbeitet, ohne von dort zu stammen. Indien wird immer noch oft als ein exotisches Land wahrgenommen, \u00fcber das in den ausl\u00e4ndischen Medien nur sehr ungew\u00f6hnliche Dinge berichtet werden, indem man sich auf Aspekte konzentriert, die dem Leben und den Sichtweisen im jeweiligen Land sehr entgegengesetzt sind. Aber unter dieser Schicht von Exotik und Fremdartigkeit gibt es Menschen mit den gleichen Sehns\u00fcchten, Tr\u00e4umen und Hoffnungen wie in jedem anderen Land auch. Sich nur auf die Unterschiede zu konzentrieren, obwohl es diese nat\u00fcrlich gibt, tr\u00e4gt nicht zu einem tieferen Verst\u00e4ndnis und einer gr\u00f6\u00dferen Offenheit gegen\u00fcber anderen Kulturen bei.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Neben Indien geht es in diesem Blog vor allem um die Pal\u00e4stinensischen Gebiete, Israel und Deutschland sowie um das Leben und Reisen mit Typ-1-Diabetes. Ziel ist es, andere zu ermutigen, das Leben zu leben, das sie sich ertr\u00e4umen und sich nicht durch \u00c4ngste davor, seinen Tr\u00e4umen zu folgen, und\/oder durch eine chronische Krankheit aufhalten zu lassen.<\/p>\n

Hi, I am Stefanie and welcome to “Magic of the Unknown”! Why the name “Magic of the Unknown”? It is like in the poem “The road not taken” by Robert Frost. Taking the road less traveled by is maybe the more uncertain choice. The one, which destination you cannot see in the beginning or only as a very blurred vision on the horizon. But it is full of magic and that makes all the difference. I think it is in the unknown, where one can truly find magical moments, encounters and scenes.\u00a0Having lived in countries, which are not common travel destinations for international tourists, I had the opportunity to meet people from completely different backgrounds than mine, to experience many unexpected situations and to see places of breathtaking beauty.\u00a0 The main focus of this blog is India from the perspective of someone living and working in this country without originating from there. India is still often seen as an exotic country, about which only quite unusual things are reported in the foreign media by focusing on aspects very opposite to the life and perceptions in the respective country. But under this layer of exoticism and foreignness, there are people with the same aspirations, dreams and hopes like in every other country. Only focusing on the things different, which of course they do exist, does not help to get a deeper understanding and generate an openness towards other cultures.\u00a0 Besides India, this blog is also about the Palestinian Territories, Israel as well as Germany and about life and traveling with Type 1 Diabetes. It aims to empower others to live the life that they dream for themselves and to not let them feel limited by fears about following their dreams and\/or\u00a0by a chronic disease.
